Hello, I'm Rhonda Dynes. This is a short story writing course to be delivered in March and April of 2008. The live version of the course is held in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada (locations vary) but you may choose to participate in the online version as well.

If you check out the links to your left you will see the story lists for each week and you will also see the assignment lists that go along with each story. The weekly lecture is a short podtalk on the issues and the content of the stories that we are discussing. The story posts include anonymous samples of work that has been handed in.

This is meant to be a simple course, designed for beginners or those who have never taken a writing course. It sticks to the basics of plot, character, structure and theme and focuses on getting you writing, from the hip and from the heart. I am a Professor of Communication (Literature, Basic Writing, etc.), and only have published minor works of fiction. My skills are in facilitating students to learn for themselves where there own interests and aptitudes are. This course is for everyone.
